The Latin Jazz Quintet with Juan Amalbert as a leader is the same Latin Jazz Quintet that recorded 2 dates with Dolphy in the beginning of the 60s. And this sound!! It's a very large quintet, of course.tranehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14651235803382579537noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135368868814715362.post-52446088544610379602011-11-26T13:15:23.041-05:002011-11-26T13:15:23.041-05:00What a find! The material with Dolphy is odd, it sounds like they made an album and he came in and laid solos over it - there is no sign that he was ever in the same room in terms of interaction or response - I hope in this case it is a bit more integrated.KingCakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17898654996870646200noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135368868814715362.post-62613288225835437912011-11-17T02:01:16.656-05:002011-11-17T02:01:16.656-05:00This one is a bit of a mystery, however to add the...This one is a bit of a mystery, however to add the above comments, go to:

http://www.jpgrasset.ovh.org/PharoahSanders-Discographie.htm

and

http://orgyinrhythm.blogspot.com/2006/12/pharoah-sanders-with-latin-jazz-quintet.html

This may help solve / deepen the mystery that surrounds this albummichaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01585582969323242230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135368868814715362.post-28566194674976138872011-11-08T19:37:22.528-05:002011-11-08T19:37:22.528-05:00I got this email from our friend sandor...
